Hillbillies & Vikings

This site is focused broadly on all descendants of John Denboe, an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in about the year 1664. Also, it maintains a special emphasis on the descendants of John Denbow (1797-1862) and his brother Bazeleel (1795-1857), early pioneers in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, as well as the descendants of Jón Jónsson (1841-1934) of Dalasýsla, Iceland, who was an Icelandic immigrant to Canada and now has progeny throughout North America.

1181 Much of the information on Nellie May is from a chart given to Russell T. Arndts from Ruth Hurlbert. The chart is called the Paternal Family Tree. The word "Maternal" is crossed out and the word "Paternal" has been added. No exact order to the births are given. Helen most likely is first. Helen, Edward, John, Nellie, and Edna being the order. The 'Haldeman book' says, Mae or Mary, married Wietzel. Carl J. Denbow joined SAR on the basis, in part, of Nellie May's application to the DAR. Gigax, Nellie May (I1990)

1185 My source actually says her birth was in Dover, Strafford, New Hampshire. I believe this is in error, as Dover Delaware is probably a day or two stage coach ride from Harford County, Maryland, whereas a trip to Dover, New Hampshire, would have been a major undertaking very unlikely for a pregnant mother to take. Denbow, Martha (I6027)

Myelodysplastic Syndrome -- a mouthful. Am transfusion dependent -- severely limits my travel. Very low red blood cells, white blood cells & platelets. Constant state of general weakness."
