Hillbillies & Vikings

This site is focused broadly on all descendants of John Denboe, an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in about the year 1664. Also, it maintains a special emphasis on the descendants of John Denbow (1797-1862) and his brother Bazeleel (1795-1857), early pioneers in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, as well as the descendants of Jón Jónsson (1841-1934) of Dalasýsla, Iceland, who was an Icelandic immigrant to Canada and now has progeny throughout North America.

6060 Witnesses at Clemens baptism were Adolff Dunckelnberg, Gieles Hartkopand Neisgen Keiiller. On April 7, 1704, Clemens was confirmed and therecord stated that he was residing in Pilghausen at the time. Thebanns for the marriage of Clemens and Margaretta had been publishedfrom 21 to 28 September 1704. They had eleven children, three of whomwere listed on the Mortonhouse roster in 1728. There is some evidenceto indicate that Clemens and Margaretta were also on that ship withtheir younger children. One bit of evidence to support this theory isthat the confirmation of Hans Peter in the Soligen church records of1727 appears to be the last entry for this family. Harry I.Dunkleberger has found no record of Clemens' or Margarretha's death inGerman church records. A second bit of evidence has already beencited-- that of the two Clements listed on the Mortonhouse's firstroster. And the third piece of evidence is the fact that NicolausGottschalck and Martin Kirschner settled in Richmond Township andNicolaus was one of the founding members of the Moselem LutheranChurch where Clemens Dunkelberger attended. Dunckelnberg, Clemens (I1641)

6070 _____
This information was gathered from a two-sided paper (8.5 X 14 inches)
written by W.G. Mollenauer called 'Pennsylvania Mollenauers since1847.'
Ruth Hurlbert gave it to me.
It is generally believed that Henry E, Mollenauer and his wife Sophia
(Kaufman) Mollenauer were born in Wittenberg in the Stuttgard area of
Germany abput the year 1800....I the spring of 1847 , Henry E.Mollenauer
with his wife Sopia (Kaufman) Mollenauer and their three children,
migrated from Hanover, Germany, and arrived in the united states
seaport at Baltimore, Maryland. from this seaport they came west in a
Conestoga Wagan as far as Six Mile Ferry near Pittsburgh,Pennsylvania,
where they lived with other german families that had migrated earlier
from Germany and had settled there. While living there he was
employeed by a coal mining company.
After a short stay there, he with his wife and family made a trip tothe
westas far as the state of iowa. Th purpose of that trip is not
definitely known...it couolld be possible that Herny E. Mollenauerwith his
family, made that trip to the west to visit and possibily settle therwith
other Mollenauers, a brother or a cousin who migrated earlier fro
Germany and had settled In Iowa.
The tradedy of that visit was the fact that Henry E. Mollenauerbecamne
suddenly ill and died and was buried somewher in the state of Iowa. His
wife Sophia and the three children...return to six MileFerry....Sophia lies
buried in the Saint Paul's Cemetery in Mt. Oliver, a suburb ofPitsburgh.
Mollenauer, Mollenhour, Mollenhauer, Moldenhauer and Molenaar seem to
be related.

6071 {From Judith Hall: Ervin Kinnel, his father was the head of the racket . . .
according to his son Robert H. Kinnel whom I met in 2000. He was living in South St. Pete and he called me one day at the office. He had found my grandfather's obit (Harry Allen died here in Tampa) and someone located me from the obit. He came to visit a couple of times.. He looked exactly like Uncle Kinney Miller except for the clothing..shorts and tennis shoes . He and I were about the same age, but we were different generations. He had done extensive work on the family and was the one who spent days at the Columbus library and had all kinds of articles from the Dispatch.Obits, news, gossip, etc. He was the one who told me about Louis Blum and bootlegging charge. Also about Sam Trott (the boxer) and Phillip Kinnel. Bob also talked to ...Someone "Palmer" I have to look up her name and she also put a lot of info in Ancestry. Some of her remarks are directly from Bob. He sat in my living room and told me his dad only worked a few hours a day.

Ervin and Sharma lived on Beech Street. Martha talked a lot about Sharma..just general conversational stuff.}
