  	Elijah Devor was born on a farm three miles west of Greenville, Ohio, October 16, 1849. He received a common-school education by attendance both in the country and Greenville, finishing in the latter place. He began the study of the law in 1868, with the well known and able law firm of Allen & Devor, and graduated from the Cincinnati Law school in 1871; was admitted to the practice of law immediately upon graduation. At the present time he is United States Commissioner of the Circuit Court, having been commissioned some ten years ago. He has been Secretary-Treasurer for the Greenville Artificial Gas Company. Is a member of the well and favorably known law firm of Devor, Donavan, & Devor. Mr. Devor is one of he leading, solid members of Greenville bar, is widely known in his profession and as a citizen of the highest repute. He has been highly successful in obtaining the world's goods and lives comfortably.
