Hillbillies & Vikings
This site is focused broadly on all descendants of John Denboe, an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in about the year 1664. Also, it maintains a special emphasis on the descendants of John Denbow (1797-1862) and his brother Bazeleel (1795-1857), early pioneers in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, as well as the descendants of Jón Jónsson (1841-1934) of Dalasýsla, Iceland, who was an Icelandic immigrant to Canada and now has progeny throughout North America.

Newspaper clipping: The Punxsutawney Spirit, Monday, July 22, 1974. ROSE SENOTT BRIDE OF JOHN ASHENFELTER Miss Rose Mary Senott, daughter of Mrs. Joseph Senott, of Clinton Street, Rossiter, exchanged marriage vows Saturday, July 20, with John T. Ashenfelter, of Clark Terrace, Punxsutawney. The double-ring vows were solemnized by the Rev. Robert Vallor, Pastor of Saint Francis of Assisi Church in Rossiter, at an altar enhanced with baskets of summer glads and mums. The bride placed a single white rose on the altar, for the Blessed Mother. Traditional wedding selections were sung by Dennis O'Brien, soloist, who was accompanied by William Brink, organist. The bride was given in marriage by her brother, Joseph Senott. She appeared at the altar in an ivory satapeau gown, featuring an empire waist with a standup lace collar and long, fitted sleeves with inserts of Cluny lace on the sleeves, ending in ruffle lace cuffs. Her full a-lineskirt was edged at the hemline with matching lace. The bride wore a Cluny lace mantilla attached to a matching lace-edged fingertip veil. She carried a spray of white orchids and baby's breath. Miss Catherine Senott, the bride's sister, was maid of honor. Anthony J.Caridi was attendant for the bridegroom. Carl Bellerillo and AnthonyJ. Mancuso ushered the guests to their seats. The bride was graduated from the Saints Cosmas and Damian High School in Punxsutawney. She is employed in the mortage and loan department of the Keystone NationalBank. The bridegroom is a vice president of the Keystone Nationa lBank. The couple greeted their wedding guests at a reception in the Punxsutawney Country Club after which they departed for a wedding trip to The Homestead in Hot Springs, Virginia. A wedding rehearsal dinner was held in the Pantall Hotel the night prior to the wedding for members of the bridal party. Upon their return from their honeymoon trip the couple will reside at 98 Clark Terrace, city.
