Hillbillies & Vikings

This site is focused broadly on all descendants of John Denboe, an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in about the year 1664. Also, it maintains a special emphasis on the descendants of John Denbow (1797-1862) and his brother Bazeleel (1795-1857), early pioneers in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, as well as the descendants of Jón Jónsson (1841-1934) of Dalasýsla, Iceland, who was an Icelandic immigrant to Canada and now has progeny throughout North America.

Carroll County, Ohio, Deed Book Vol. 11, Pages 150 & 151.  

Deed Sheriff of Carroll County to Hannah Hoge.  

On 18 May 1847 James Sharp of Carroll County, Ohio filed a petition in Common Pleas Court against Thomas Ayres, Susannah Ayres, Perry Jones and Sarah Jones, James Larkins and Rebecca Larkins, Hannah Hog[u]e, John Sharp, Thomas Tolan[d], Susannah Tolan[d], George Walker, Sarah Jane Walker, Joln Everhart, Mary Anne Everhart, Abraham Sharp, William Sharp, Elizabeth Sharp, John Denbo[w], Martha Denbo[w], Solomon Allbaugh, Keziah Allbaugh, Thomas Sharp, Margaret Sharp, demanding partition of certain real estate described as follows: The West half of the South East Quarter of Section numbered twenty four (24) in Township twelve (12) of Range five (5) of the lands ordered to be sold at Steubenville, Ohio.  

At the September Term of the Court 1848 A.D.
Hannah Hog[u]e paid $720 (the appraised value of the property) to the above listed people.  
Received for the record 17 March 1849.
