Hillbillies & Vikings

This site is focused broadly on all descendants of John Denboe, an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in about the year 1664. Also, it maintains a special emphasis on the descendants of John Denbow (1797-1862) and his brother Bazeleel (1795-1857), early pioneers in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, as well as the descendants of Jón Jónsson (1841-1934) of Dalasýsla, Iceland, who was an Icelandic immigrant to Canada and now has progeny throughout North America.

Port Clinton, Ohio Newspaper Article, dated January 31, 1936. (name of paper not on clipping) titled Mrs. Tena Lorenzen Retires After 32 Years of Service.

"Mrs. Tena Lorenzen, 80 year old bundle of activity, concluded 32 years of service as 'housekeeper' in the present law offices of the National Bank Building. She began this service two years before the death of her husband, Lawrence Lorenzen, when they lived in the business section. Her first employer was Dr. H. J. Pool, who established his hospital in these rooms. After his moving to larger quarters on East Third Street, these rooms have been occupied by various attorneys, among these being, S.P. Alexander, Scott, Stahl and now Charles Graves, Alfred Duff, and William Moon. Twice a week, during the noon hour, Mrs. Lorenzen made everything spic and span in these offices, and she has enjoyed the work even up to the last day, although she will be 81 years old during the coming summer."
