Hillbillies & Vikings
This site is focused broadly on all descendants of John Denboe, an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in about the year 1664. Also, it maintains a special emphasis on the descendants of John Denbow (1797-1862) and his brother Bazeleel (1795-1857), early pioneers in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, as well as the descendants of Jón Jónsson (1841-1934) of Dalasýsla, Iceland, who was an Icelandic immigrant to Canada and now has progeny throughout North America.

Baptism 1881, 27 October; Parents, Lorenz Lorensen & Catharine Kruse; Birthdate, 20 September 1881; Child, Dorothea Maria; Sponsors, Anna Maria Kruse, Johanna Lorensen, Hans P. Petersen. According to Cerificate of Confirmation, Dorothea Marie Lorenzen was confirmed on 29 March 1896 at St. John's Lutheran Church in Port Clinton, Ohio. I have a copy of the certifcate which is written in German. Record from St. John's Lutheran Church, Port Clinton, Ohio. Received 7 April 1995. Confirmation Class - 29 March 1896; Doris Lorenzen; Birthdate and Place, 20 September 1881, Port Clinton; Parents, Lorenz & Christine (Kruse) Lorenzen. Note: Doris Tadsen was also in this class. Both Eunice and Kathryn were born at home, 317 Jackson Street, Port Clinton, Ohio.
