Hillbillies & Vikings

This site is focused broadly on all descendants of John Denboe, an indentured servant who came to the Crown Colony of Maryland in about the year 1664. Also, it maintains a special emphasis on the descendants of John Denbow (1797-1862) and his brother Bazeleel (1795-1857), early pioneers in the hills of Southeastern Ohio, as well as the descendants of Jón Jónsson (1841-1934) of Dalasýsla, Iceland, who was an Icelandic immigrant to Canada and now has progeny throughout North America.

From an unidentified newspaper clipping, probably the Greenville Advocate:

To be Married To-day.

Our townsman, Mr. John Devor (a widower) will be united in marriage to-day to Mrs. Maggie Martin (a widow of the late Potter Martin), at the bride's residence in Middletown, Butler county, Ohio. This merging of two souls into one, if not enlivened by youthful gayety, will be dignified by that mature deliberation of election.  May John and Maggie live long and enjoy the fleeting years, and may the children of the former relationship of either party be treated with that kindness as shall, in some degree, lessen their longing griefs for departed father or mother.
